Does anyone know how to handle a power of attorney when you reside and Thailand and your Power of attorney resides in another country.
Answer summary
If you are in Thailand and have a power of attorney (POA) residing in another country, the POA document needs to be recognized in the attorney's country. For example, if the attorney is in the US, the document must be notarized at a US embassy or consulate in Thailand as Thai notaries are not recognized in the US. It's also important to check the specific requirements for the country your attorney is located in.

That's not very descriptive. Is the poa for something in another country or Thailand for example. Nobody can correctly answer an incompletly phrased question. I've been using poa, trustees etc for a long time, not that I know everything about every situation.
Your power of attorney document must be recognized in the country where the person acting on your behalf is. For example, I’m in Thailand but the person I want to designate as my power of attorney is in the US. My power of attorney document that I sign needs to be notarized at the US embassy (Bangkok) or consulate (Chiang Mai) to be recognized in the US. Thai notaries are not recognized in the US.
If you’re not dealing with the US then you need to find out what your specific country requirements.
