Hi guys, I am a German with an Sri Lankan (living in SL) boyfriend. We want to go for two weeks on holidays to Thailand in end of December . I wonder, how easy/difficult it is to get visa for him. I will fund the whole trip and will sponsor him. But I am in Germany and can’t get with him to the embassy, while he is working and living in the other end of SL. I organized a travel agent in SL but I don’t get any updates on anything (I think, he „run“) Pls advise, I feel bit lost now... help a girl out 😳

Did you have him go to the website of the thai consulate in Colombo Sri Lanka?

They have an online appointment system and even agents use it. They don't do walk up service unless it's an emergency.

Yes I did. But as I am still terrified by our application for a Schengen visa we need to assure, that the papers are complete. He has a job, but is paid cash.. so no Bank movements, even if he have money. No payment slips. I will fund the trip, so how to prove sponsoring, when I am not there? It is a 6-7 hrs trip for him to go there, and get back, his boss is not going to free him for that time twice, we are already happy, that he may take holiday in December. Means: we need to make pretty sure, he got all relevant papers together to get the visa. Then he can take that online appointment in the embassy (long story short: before he goes, we must be sure about the relevant papers)
