Hey folks I came before the new systems. My aunt wants to come to visit where does she go to apply for visa and entry? She wants to do it herself but keeps asking me if I know of XYX agencies she has found that "looks legit".

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around how to apply for a visa to Thailand, suggesting that individuals should avoid using agencies and instead refer to the Royal Thai Embassy's website specific to their country for the correct visa application process. Participants emphasize checking whether the applicant qualifies for a visa exemption or can apply for an e-visa.

Your country of nationality is the country which issued your passport. I cannot believe you would even ask this question.

Lol Jack 😁 don't use an agent! Apply in advance in USA for 60 day or arrive 30 day visa exempt...either can be extended in Thailand by 30 days.

, If you are talking about the visa exempt, she does that the moment she passes through immigration in Thailand. There is nothing for her to apply for. It is a 30 day exemption. If she wants to extend that then she has to visit immigration after arrival and apply for an extension. It is a quick process as long as you have everything they require(which isn't much).

If you are referring to the 60 day tourist visa that can also be extended she has to do that an embassy in her country

Jack was asking where is she from not if she has a passport. If she qualifies for 30 days visa exempt can be extended 30 days in Thailand.

yes passport, few weeks. I was going to urge her to the 90 day over the 30 but if there is a big difference in effort it might not be worth it.

if she's from a country that gets visa exempt she can just show up and get 30 days and extend it for 30 at immigration if she needs it.

Or she can apply for tourist visa from home and get 60 days on arrival.

The only thing she needs to travel is proof of vaccination or antigen test within 72 hours.

from the USA. I guess I am asking what the correct official website for her to apply from is as she keeps finding these third parties.

USA has to use evisa. But her application will be routed to the consulate based on her state of residence so she can check that consulate's website for additional information.

Evisa means no more mailing your passport to the office. Everything is done online and your visa comes via email.

It doesn't make sense to use an agency to get a Visa outside the country.

Check the consulate website where she's coming from and then either apply for an evisa if they use it there, or apply with the process of that consulate. Or if it's just a short trip see if she qualifies for visa exempt and don't even worry about it.
