I need to get my retirement visa extension. I have all the correct paperwork and photocopies. I went to Promenada immigration Chiangmai and was told to be there at 3am to get a queue number.

I'm looking for someone to pay to queue up for me from 3am to 7.30am.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking someone to wait in line for them at the Chiang Mai Immigration office to obtain a retirement visa extension. They mention having the necessary paperwork but are advised to arrive early (around 3 AM) to secure a queue number. Other comments suggest the typical fees for queue assistance range from 500-1,000 THB, and there are discussions on the overall frustrations with the immigration process in Chiang Mai compared to other cities. Additionally, some alternatives are offered, such as going to Chiang Rai for potentially quicker service.

and I think we've exhausted the options for this topic :O I believe the O/P will either find someone to wait in the queue for them OR they'll be doing it on their own ;)

I have seen 500-1,000B mentioned as a typical price for queue only service, where they get you the number and give you the time for you to go out and do the extension. I think there is a rule against mentioning agents in Thailand but just Google "Chiang Mai retirement visa queue service" and you'll find options. Almost all the time in this is the queue to get the number, once you go for your actual extension that's pretty quick, so I think queue only service makes a lot of sense.

Big call for it in Penang!

Copied from the Dark side and a post last night.

You need to use the 'Toilet trick' πŸ˜‚

Do not need to rush, while there are a lot of people, nowhere near as bad as some make it out to be,

It does not open till 9 am and you will be waiting outside, then waiting inside.

The sign of 100 applications per day is still up and Jim also said the same,

As long as you do not go on Monday or first day after some holiday, then its not a problem,

You can cheat a little to jump the queue if you dare. Ask to go to the toilet, entrance to the toilet from the side, but once inside, you really do not need to return to the queue, can just walk over and join the queue to the window.

Number that they give you is NOT number to follow, you queue up, Number is to collect your passport.

Its really not a difficult process as long as you have all the required paperwork, there is even a guy outside with Toyota Avanza that does photocopy from the back of the car(no idea on the costs)

And if you do not have required paperwork, i do not think agents will be able to help anyway.

One tip i heard from others and Jim, if returning by bus , when you entering Thailand, to put 200 baht in your passport for Thai immigration if you do not have 20 000 baht cash to show.
