TLDR : Answer Summary
Visitors to Chiang Mai immigration are advised to arrive around 5 AM to avoid long queues, although the waiting time can vary depending on the specific service needed. Recent comments indicate issues with Volunteers and work permits, but it's unclear if these problems have been resolved.

Few months ago lots of comments of problems with Volunteers in Chiang Mai. No work permits and no Extensions of Stay, is this back to normal again?

Thanks, I guess I missed an update that it is sorted. Good Luck.

I felt exactly the same and I don't have a little dude to drag along! I just decided to try my usual time (post lunch, mid week) and low and behold, it was actually faster than normal. And all cue numbers were definitely still being handed out, I checked when I was leaving at 2 pm.
THANK YOU! I really don't fancy waking G up at 3 am to go there lol

Not sure, Em but I was stressed out based on all the comments I was reading on here and in other CM groups. Don't believe the hype ;)
