TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about obtaining a Thai Visa, specifically a Single Entry Tourist Visa (SETV), in Cebu, Philippines. The user expresses frustration over finding only outdated information and seeks recent experiences or guidance. The comments suggest searching for more current posts in a community group, express concern for travel safety due to a typhoon affecting the region, and confirm plans to go to Cebu soon.
, Yes, I was just there and was denied a Visa. They said they can only issue a SETV if the applicant did not spend more than 90 days in Thailand in that same year.
However, the consul was super nice and communicated a lot with the embassy in Manila to try to issue me a visa nonetheless.
Despite having more than enough funds, they additionally wanted an invitation letter from a Thai resident. When I provided that, they asked for a letter of employment. When I told them I have my own business (in Europe), they wanted to see financial statements of my company. At that point, I did not proceed.
Having said that, I think if you have spent less than 90 days in Thailand this year, getting a visa will not be an issue. But bring enough time with you. It might take a week to get a visa.

The Typhoon hit in the north. Probably ok aside from rain in Cebu.

Take care if you there, if not check the weather forecast. Philippines are getting hit by a typhoon at the moment, not the best place to visit.
