Hi everyone, I’m hoping to get some advice from those who have lived in Thailand longer or have experience with local health insurance options.

I’ve been researching Pacific Cross Thailand – Asia Care Silver online described as a good and affordable plan for expats, especially for basic IPD + OPD coverage. However, I’m running into a strange problem: I can’t find this plan anywhere.

I contacted Pacific Cross Thailand directly, and they told me that they are not the broker for Asia Care Silver and would not tell me which brokers actually sell it. I also contacted Pacific Prime, but they said they don’t offer this plan at all.

Through online research, I keep seeing that Asia Care Silver is considered one of the better value-for-money options for expats living in Thailand, but I have not been able to find any broker, any website, or any official link that sells it.

So I’m wondering:

Is anyone here currently using Pacific Cross Asia Care Silver?

If yes:

– Which broker did you buy it from?

– How was the application process?

– Are you satisfied with the coverage and service?

Any guidance or recommendations would be really appreciated. Thank you in advance.

You don't mention your age or any pre-existing conditions you may have which both make a huge difference. I'm lucky as my insurance from the USA covers Me here and the hospital i use bills them directly. However as a backup and at other doctors I also have a Thai policy. I use AXA because of my age but AIA is another good reputable Thai company. I would avoid on-line international companies. Unless you have dependable coverage from your home Country that is recognized and accepted here I would stick with a good reputable Thai provider.

If you can afford it self insure because like most insurance companies they are grubs and will try and find some little detail to get out of paying

Stay away from Pacific Cross. They cancelled my best friends policy after he paid in for 7 years when he go cancer. They can cancel at any time for no reason. I recommend CIGNA and been with them for 12 years. They have been excellent

Henrik Rasmussen Pacific Cross are shite. They let my friend die brcos they dont want to pay for his treatment. Cigna are the best in the world. Paid out on everything for my family and even provide 2nd opinions if we want them at another hospital

I can only offer advice from experience and it was expensively hard won. If you are contemplating arranging cover form overseas prior to arrival - Don’t.! Different time zones don’t work. It’s just death by email. Avoid Pacific Prime too, because they are hopeless. Travel on a 3 month travel policy. Approach a reccomended local broker on arrival. As well as options, Thailand may not be for you.?living here is no holiday. You will need a decent broker in your corner to deal with underwriters. Get your ducks in a row, this is the most expensive and important thing you will do setting up your life here. It can take weeks to arrange too. AXA, Pacific Cross and AIA are the market leaders. I use Luma and they are excellent. Just for context. I have just renewed. 66 - No pre- conditionsor long term medication. No significant exclusions or waiting periods.. 5M Cover. 8K Room a day In/out patient.

Zero deductable -141,000Baht. ($4282USD) 20,000Baht deductable shaves 20K off that annual premium.

That figure for that kind of cover is around Par. In patient isn’t at all essential. Avoid Cigna at all costs. Expensive as well as genuinely dreadful.
