How can I apply for a Non-immigration O retirement visa without booking a flight or hotel in advance?

Hi all. American in USA applying for Non-immigration O retirement visa. Want to be in Thailand asap!

The evisa ask for a flight number and hotel accommodation. What do I do here? Not planning on booking one way flight or hotel until I know that visa is approved.

What other pitfalls will I run into filing the evisa for non-imm O?

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
An American expat seeking a Non-immigrant O retirement visa for Thailand faces challenges with eVisa requirements, needing to provide a flight number and hotel accommodation information before booking. Responses suggest that while it's common to book flights and hotels prior to visa approval, applicants can provide estimated details for their eVisa application. The general consensus is that having the necessary funds and documentation is crucial, and providing honest information is recommended.

If you have the required funds in your bank account and supporting documents they ask for why wouldn't they give you a non o visa

sure have several hundred thousand. USD. So funds aren’t an issue. And all supporting documents. Sent my application a couple hours ago. So just waiting on Thai government now. I never asked if they would issue me a visa or not. So confused about your statement.

Be honest, no need to try and game the system

Non-o retirement requirements are only guesses on flight number ,date and accommodation there is NO REQUIREMENT for booked airline tickets or hotel bookings.

@Will ***********
Really depends on the embassy. Some do infact require both a confirmed airline ticket and proof of booking for where you are staying. But most do not.

before I was getting Ext of Stay I was applying for 90 day non o based on marriage. Three different times when I applied for the visa the Washington DC Embassy would request further documentation, they asked for a copy of my flight information. The weird thing is there was no place on the application for flight information. This was about four or five years ago when they first started the E Visa. But I knew for sure after the second time that it happened to me that as soon as I applied, I would be expecting an email asking for my flight information. I’m assuming it’s changed now.

@Wayne *******
now you even submit the additional information through the e-visa system if they ask for more rather than emailing like the past

much better now then thank goodness I don’t have to worry about it anymore

running into another issue. It’s asking for a document of where I currently live. Sold my house months ago. Live with brother. No utilities in my name. Just my cellphone. And reviewing my att carrier, I can get a screenshot with my name, address, phone number from AT&T but that’s it. No letterhead or anything stating it is a utility or phone bill. And wants it as jpeg or pdf. I just don’t know how to change a screenshot into one of those two.

Simpler way to provide this info?

Added the flight number and just hostel address for now, accepted that no problem.

@Stan *****
You don't even have a bank account? A bank statement with your address should suffice.

And I guarantee that AT&T will let you access your billing statement which would be a pdf that shows everything. A screenshot would not be accepted.

so I’ve submitted and it’s been accepted. Up comes the submit payment. I’ve highlighted the visa as it ask and then click in the yellow submit payment prompt. And nothing happens. Tried several times and nothing.

I am doing this on my I-phone(perhaps this is this issue?).

Got it all saved just trying to pay for the visa now 🤷

I can’t even log into the EVisa site on my iPhone. You might want to try it on a laptop if you have access.

I always book my flight and hotel before the visa, but as others have said you can choose the dates and flights you plan on using.
Brandon ************
You find a flight and provide the flight number. You find a hotel and that you might stay at and provide the information.

Here is a tip, you will notice all airline flights to the same destination use the same flight number. No matter what day or month it is
