I'm leaving for a long weekend at the New Year and just want to ask if the 90 day report receipt had to be present in your passport when leaving the country. I have a picture on my phone but I did my last 90 day report online and haven't printed it off.

No, you do not need this report. Remember that if you return you need to update you address again with the new departure card number, most Immigration office require a complet registration. And you day of arrival is your day number 1 and you can count yourself 90 days forward for your next 90 days inside Thailand report.

To my knowledge, the 90 day report receipt is not required to leave the country.

a Re-Entry Permit must be used before the valid until date mentioned in the permit. As in this example before 19 April 2009:
