TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus is that there is no strict requirement of 6 months of work experience before applying for the DTV (Digital Work Visa). However, it's important to provide accurate information about your employment situation. If you have just started a company with the primary goal of qualifying for the DTV, this may raise concerns with the Embassy.
You need to supply trustworthy information, and if you just have started a compagny, with the purpose of making you a candidate for DTV, then the Embassy will easily reveal it
Thank you. So if I the remote job is hiring me from December can I apply for the DTV in December? Siam Legal have said I need to be employed for 6 months before applying. I appreciate any advise ☺️
Anonymous participant freelance will work, particularly if you can show invoices, money into the bank and you are registered to pay tax wherever you are from
Anonymous participant You can apply via the freelance invoices you have. Taipei embassy who I applied with last Dec, would not accept my new contract starting in Jan. They said they need to see payments from that contract, so I applied with previous freelance contracts.
You’re going to apply for workcation, right? I don’t see a problem with invoices and payslips combined as long as you explain the situation in the cover letter and get an approval of your company that you’re allowed to work remotely from Thailand. I also added the proof of payment of all invoices I handed in.
