Do the TP staff prioritize applications which are closest to departure dates?

I hear from some people on here having their applications approved almost instantly for departures that are months away & others whom are waiting weeks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The general consensus from the community is that Thai immigration staff may prioritize visa applications that are closer to departure dates, particularly in cases where applications are straightforward and paperwork is correct. Automated systems seem to handle most approvals quickly, while manual processing is required for issues with paperwork or vaccination certificates, which could lead to longer waiting times.

The simple answer is 'Yes' unless it's an automated approval.

Yeah definitely done automatic... I got my QR in less than 5 mins... Nothing like the horror stories I was reading online

If you paperworks not correct or vaccination cert is not recognised then it has to be sorted manually.

Dont know how the staff organise that but probably got some sort of system that gives priority to more urgent cases.

Its actually computerised and if paperwork is correct its done automatically.

The attached table shows countries whose vaccination certificates are automatically recognised.

it's an agreement between those countries. Canada and the US haven't applied to be part of that club yet (probably because of their struggle you provide uniformity QR codes). The issue is on their side.

Well I can imagine the states can be very disorganised having a recognised country wide system, with federal and state legislation involved. (Just guessing)

As far as the US, we don't have digital vaccination records. The ThaiPass app accesses the digital vaccination records from a centralized stores. For other countries, they have to individual check scans of vaccination records that are supplied in the application. I wish we had centralized digital vaccination records here.

what’s strange? For most of the vaccine certificates I’ve seen in the US don’t have a QR code, I’ve heard you can get one in Cali but that’s about it. No QR code = manual verification.
