TLDR : Answer Summary
Thai nationals do not require a negative PCR test to enter Thailand, although some airlines may have their own policies requiring proof of a negative test before boarding. It's advisable for travelers to check with their airline and the nearest Thai embassy for the latest regulations.
My partner did it in December and no PCR needed for Thais before departure for entry to Thailand (though some airlines might require it). COE and F2F still required.

Thai nationals can leave UK on repatriation flight using Thai Airways( I believe leaves London every sunday) without covid test.
If using Etihad they require all people boarding flights to have negative pcr test. Not sure about other airlines.
This is why I believe UK nationals are worried about using Thai Airways as could be sharing plane with Thai nationals who currently have Covid

Double check with your nearest Thai embassy for updated info but Thai govt do not require COVID test for Thai nationals returning.

I could be wrong BUT I don't think thaiz have to covid test before they fly into the country :/
needed by who? The airline? I have read Etihad have made passengers test. However as stated above it is not a requirement of the Thai government for citizens to have a test before returning
Thai citizens normally fly Thai airways on repatriation flights as did our friend and yes it was required when she entered the country.

Fit to fly required to enter country but negative COVID test not required for Thai nationals to enter. Know about a dozen Thais returned on different airlines although mainly Thai airways, and not one has been asked to produce a COVID test.
