TLDR : Answer Summary
Starting April 1, no PCR test will be required prior to arrival in Thailand, according to the Thai Government. However, the change is subject to official publication in the Royal Gazette. Some commenters express concern over potential health risks and the effectiveness of this new rule, suggesting it may increase COVID-19 cases among travelers.

unless the airline requires you to have one to fly with them
Even with the mandatory pre flight test, people arrive positive everyday. That number will now significantly increase, and those people are going to be infecting people on the plane.
That's the point, they eliminated the pre flight tests, but are keeping the 2 post arrival tests, and with no pre flight tests, more people will test positive on arrival in Thailand and have to pay for more hospitels etc. It's not great on several levels.
Yes, but that does nothing about the vast majority of people who won't voluntarily test themselves pre flight, who are positive (and previously would've tested positive on the mandatory test and not be allowed to board) end up sitting next to you on a 10 hr flight and you get off the plane infected.
I am only the messenger of this .If you don't like it please stay home .I was in Thailand in December for 5 weeks under the rules that applied then .I am going again late April and will follow their rules as they apply and make other choices to protect myself.

That's exactly what I'm thinking too. Even more so they can be quarantined when you arrive

Stupid rule, lets get infected while being on the airplane with other passengers who got covid
Exactly. That rules out Thailand for me while Covid is an issue. The on arrival test positivity rate is really going to go up. And then are they still going to be isolating all the close contacts from the plane, that their policy made less safe? Ugh.

Until it’s published in the Royal Gazette then it’s not law. Probably will be but we’ll have to wait and see.
