I just got an email from the London Thai Embassy confirming an “interview appointment” for tomorrow between 10–11am, but the email doesn’t say if it’s online or if I need to go in person.
I’m based in Jersey so London is the nearest embassy for me, but it’s not really possible for me to travel there tomorrow (I only just got back from a London trip yesterday!).
Does anyone know if these interviews are normally done online/video call, or if you have to physically attend the embassy? There is no other info!
I’m panicking now

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user received an email from the London Thai Embassy requesting an interview but was unclear if it required in-person attendance or could be done online. In the comments, several users provided insights, confirming that interviews at the London embassy typically require in-person attendance and recommend bringing all original documents. The user initially expressed panic over the short notice, but later indicated they would travel to London for the interview. Additional comments noted that requirements may vary and suggested the need for clear communication from the embassy regarding interview procedures.
Sorry to hear about this. They should give more clear instructions and also options for times or a later date!
From a bird's eye view, the best thing overall is more difficult to get the DTV, making sure everyone is legit and committed, but then no questions and an easy stamp at the border each time you arrive in Thailand as a DTV holder.
I think you probably should have planned on waiting in the country that you applied in before leaving. I think that’s pretty standard in the DTV application process. Unfortunately if you can’t make your interview you’ll likely have to apply again, but next time give yourself enough time to wait out the process- it’s part of the deal.
Do you think 24h notice is acceptable without an option is choose a time that's is suitable to him out of the pool of appointment dates? They can get f.d.
Anonymous participant 152 ahh ok I thought you meant Jersey as in “New Jersey” in the USA. In that case get your buns back down to London and make your interview! 👨🏻✈️
You must arrive at the Embassy for your interview at the scheduled time. If you do not arrive at the Embassy on time, they will reject your application. Prepare all necessary documents, including original bank statements.
Anonymous participant 396 But some people have said they have online interviews so how do I know the difference? It doesn’t specify in London or any ting as you can see from the photo.
The interview takes place at the embassy you've applied at, if you've applied in London then you should go there and bring a copy (print it out) of all the documents you've attached to your application and your passport
London seem to be becoming more picky in general, I’ve noted they they are now asking for stamped bank statements. Seen this in person with one application and also reported here
