Do I need to translate my home office contract for the DTV visa application in Thailand?

Hello everyone,

I would like to apply for the DTV visa and have a few questions.

I am from Germany and have a home office contract with a German company. Do I need to have it translated into English, and does a home office contract count as a remote work contract for the consulate?

Can anyone help me with this?

Thank you very much.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on applying for a DTV visa while holding a home office contract with a German company. They inquire whether the contract needs translation into English and if it qualifies as a remote work contract for the consulate. Responses suggest securing explicit permission from the employer for remote work in Thailand and confirming if a German contract is acceptable at the embassy. Additionally, tools like Google Translate may assist in translation.

Du kannst einfach den Google translator nehmen um das ganze Dokument übersetzen zu lassen. Hat bei mir problemlos geklappt

Ask directly to the Embassy you'll be applying at.

You should get explicit permission from the company your contract is with allowing you to work remotely in Thailand. It would also be a good idea to get them to state you won't work with any thai clients or thai entities. Just being allowed to work from home is unlikely to be enough.

Yes a home office contract can count as remote work. Demonstrate your work online and submit permission to work remotely in Thailand. If applying in Germany they may accept a contract in German, you will need to confirm that with the embassy.
