TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a Thai visa for both yourself and your spouse, you will need a total of 1 million THB to cover both applications. However, you can hold this amount in a single account under your name, provided you write a sponsorship letter stating that your spouse has access to these funds.

Ive double checked this and yes you would need 1 million to cover both applications. It is allowed to have the 1 million in solely your account though, you would just have to write a sponsorship letter along with that and/or that you both have access to the funds in ‘your’ account with the 1M in there.
