Leaving the country a day after 90 day report due date. Do I still need to report or is it not penalized until you've gone a week past this date? TIA
Answer summary
When leaving Thailand just after the 90-day report due date, it's crucial to understand that you are still required to file the report within the 7-day grace period after the due date without penalty. Even if you are leaving, failing to report could lead to fines if immigration checks your record in the future. It's recommended to always file the report to avoid any complications later, as the 90-day reporting obligations remain in force regardless of your travel plans.

The report period is 14 days before the deadline to 7 days after. You can report without penalty anytime within this period. Don't forget to get a Re entry permit before leaving Thailand if your on a long stay Visa ( Permit ) otherwise it will get cancelled and the whole prosses starts again. the 90 day Restarts from Entry day back into Thailand.

You're leaving after the report is due, why would you not file before you leave?

I have successfully used the immigration website 2 times for my 90 day report.

I would never take a risk to dont do the report even if it maybe like some people say is ok for a week.

I dont take that chance.

I always do my 90 days report well in time. I believe (with no proof) that all you do is considered in the future for you as a person.

I think it adds up in the end even if its just small stuff.

I dont know why doing the 90 days report is a problem ?

I always skip the line since they know me. Takes me about 5 min so not a problem

Björn Nordberg the only consequence will be a 2000B fine whether you are 8 days late reporting or 8 months late and get fined when you next do your extension, the same one 2000B fine, no other consequences

I would have been here 91 days after my last reentry, I decided to make a short trip out in preference to spending a day at CW because I’m on a new passport.

I was fined for being a day late at the airport, I didn’t even realise I had stayed too long

That was overstay, not for 90-day reporting.

Andrew Stephens did you read the question ?

Andrew Stephens overstay has absolutely nothing to do with the 90-days report duty

If you're in Thailand for 90 consecutive days, then you're legally required to file a 90 day report. You can report without a fine up until 7 days after the due date. Leaving Thailand within that 7 days does not relieve your legal requirement to report. It's a grace period to make that report. If an immigration officer notices in future that you failed to report, you can still be fined.

although what you've noted is true, you've missed an important point. Leaving the country will reset the 90 days. When you re-enter Thailand the clock resets to a fresh 90 days. Assuming, of course, that one has obtained a re-entry stamp before departing and that the visa will not otherwise expire.

Jim Malkin It will only reset the NEXT reporting, not the 90 days he had to report. Those are 2 different reportings.

that doesn't change the fact that you still failed to follow the law and can be fined if an immigration officer notices. Just leaving doesn't reset your failure to report. It just starts a timer for the next report
