Hi. Question on OA visa - can someone please tell me if I need a year lease as proof of accommodation for the full 12 months of the visa? If it can be less, what's the least amount of time I need to rent accommodation for, to provide proof of Thai address? I've looked on various websites and even emailed the Thai Embassy in London but no one seems to want to tell me the minimum duration for Thai address. I won't get over before my I get OA visa and I don't really want to rent somewhere long term until I've seen the place. Thanks in advance for useful replies.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The minimum duration of accommodation required for an OA visa in Thailand is not clearly defined by the authorities. Various users have suggested that a short-term hotel reservation or even an Airbnb rental can suffice as proof of accommodation. A user indicated that they used a 10-day hotel reservation for their visa application. Another suggested that simply providing the address of the hotel where one is staying is adequate. In essence, there seems to be flexibility, and renting a place longer-term isn't necessary before receiving the visa.

Thanks for responses. I'm just going to book an Airbnb for a month and that will give me a Thai address for my visa application and time to find somewhere more permanent once I get over in October ☺️
They are just asking your first address. Just give them the hotel you are staying at first. There is no minimum so they are confused why you are asking about one.
