TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking visa advice for Thailand, specifically regarding his options given that he has half Thai children and is applying from the UK. Comments suggest that the Long-Term Resident (LTR) visa does not relate to custody, and a Non-O visa might be more appropriate. There are also concerns about the children's passports and the need to confirm requirements with the local Thai embassy.

Can you renew their Thai passports at the Thai Embassy in London? When you arrive in Thailand you can do Thai ID cards for them too.

ok you need to follow Brandon's advice above and get an extension inside Thailand

LTR has nothing to do with having custody of a Thai child. If you're looking to enter Thailand on that basis it's a non-O visa.
