Do expats in Dubai need to return to their home country to apply for a DTV visa due to new PR rules?
Hello! My husband and I are expats living in Dubai for over 8 years and we are planning to apply for DTV visa but since there’s the new rule for PR, does this mean we need to go back and apply from our home country even our ties - employment, bank acc’s, ejari are in UAE? TIA!

If you're expats in Dubai it would mean you are here with a residence visa so you can apply through Dubai. This is what I will be doing and im a sri lankan citizen living and working in Dubai

The specific language being used right now is permanent resident but I’d wait until the rules actually change on the 31st before looking for more clarification.
There’s a chance that they mean “legal” resident as in you are appropriately living/working in the country and aren’t a tourist or on a short stay visa.
If they do really mean that applications are restricted to citizens/permanent residents of that country then you will have to return to your passport country in order to apply for a DTV.
