TLDR : Answer Summary
The necessity of an interview for visa applications related to Soft Power in Thailand seems to vary based on the embassy. Some embassies routinely require an interview, while others do not. For instance, it is not common outside Laos, and if one uses an agent, an interview may be bypassed. However, for personal applications, there may be a 50/50 chance of needing an interview.

If you do with agent, no interview, no stay outside of Thailand, no problems.

You do yourself- interview, stay there, chances

No stay outside Thailand means you don't have got your visa legal.

dtvs are being revoked mostly because people cannot show documents they get visa with.

Of course you might be lucky and in Thailand it is possible to buy everything, but that does not make it legal, and one of the group rules in this group is we should not promote illegal ways to get visa.

Recent posts also show DTVS being revoked when immigration finds out the applicant received DTV while in Thailand or not in the country of application when approved.

there's a chance. Some embassies are more likely to set an interview, some less
