Did the immigration officer in Thailand require me to show my TDAC or cash upon entry?

I was asked to see my Baht 20,000

They did check my TDAC

They did asked me why was I was going to Thailand

This was all inaccordance with established immigration procedures

Next time you enter you will be going straight home I guess.

I went through a few days ago didn't have to show anything except passport and fingerprints..I waited about 15 mins in the queue as they open up other lines..was not like I was anticapating at all..easy

In 20 years visiting, Ive never been asked about money. I think its only if one looks like a criminal or a begger. Anyway, its only $600.

Thailand is moving 1 day that 1 day something different. Now Chinese get tired system error not good. Thailand need a simpel way to handle all this turist. Its very difficult because different countrys and turist reason to come to visit the great land its to mutch. I think is better thai embassy around the world stamp in the passport and that is all. Put the government to work not the migration or airport that to mutch error. I see my self all this line whit turist its totally wrong. Its aut of control and then all bad face easy rolling in. They need more simpel visa not more rules and this have to come from embassy. Money is nice, but not way people going to see Thailand think of that.

They don’t look at my digital arrival QR either, it’s already in their system and they see it as soon as they scan my passport. I’ve never been asked for proof of funds in 14 years.

I arrived this morning Phuket. Landed 11.30 am.. Were huge no of visitors there.. but we chose fast track immigration 500 baht per person. Was only people there..Stamped in with no questions asked. Not even return tickets 😁

Though it was 200 Baht last year.. but after seeing the huge crowd I thought 500 baht was nothing bad to get in early

Standard protocol. Its up to the officer what they want to see. It would help to know which airport you came through. A friend came through Phuket HKT and said it took 2 hours.

I got in last night. It was the busiest I've ever experienced the airport. They wanted my tdac and proof of return flight. They didn't ask for cash and never have. It took me an hour to get through immigration. Other times I have flown in it's been 10 to 15 minutes.

Yes, they have it on their computer.And no, they don't check everybody, but if they do check you.You better have it

They didn't ask me either entering Thailand in February. A French National didn't have "acceptable" $100 bills entering Laos on my trip. He was rejected and look Incredibly pissed. I think his buddy helped him out. Lessons learned? Know what's required prior to entering a foreign country.

They never ask for your tdac because they already have it, that's why you fill it out electronically, they rarely ask for the money but its safer to have it.... the airport us always busy. Any uther enlightened information you have for us?

When i left other day, i saw 2 people with immigration at ATM in outside section. Obviously they want proof from some people

Nothing new in that, the only reason to have a hard copy or on your phone is just a safety backup. And cash is rarely asked about unless you look like a hobo

TDAC is linked to your passport and the cash thing is still a requirement but is at the officers discretion.

That's how it usually goes. Did you come visa exempt? If yes how many days did they give you?

Normal. TDAC pulls up with your passport scan. Money is only asked for if they want to find a reason to deny you entry.
