TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster inquires about the possibility of a same-day visa run to Cambodia from Koh Chang, specifically asking if it requires an overnight stay. Comments suggest that there is typically at least an overnight stay due to the need to apply for the visa on one day and pick it up the next.

There is always at least 1 night overstay as you apply for a visa on day one and pick up the next working day.

When I used the land border at Kamrieng to come in to Thailand you just turned up, filled out an immigration form and got in on a 30 day visa on arrival
