Hello everyone, looking for some information here... My friend just got notified about having to leave to go to Kuala lumpur because her paperwork will expire in 2 days. Her mother just arrived from Australia last night to come and visit her (mother received tourist visa on arrival ). How easy would it be for her mom to go on this trip with her (leave tomorrow) and return to Thailand in 3-4 days ?

Would they grant her another visa on arrival or not ?

TIA ✨

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user's friend is concerned about her mother traveling to Kuala Lumpur and returning to Thailand shortly after. It's clarified that the mother's current entry may be under a 30-day visa exempt entry, and she should have no problem returning to Thailand with a new visa exempt entry. However, the daughter, who is facing visa expiration, might encounter difficulties when trying to re-enter Thailand due to her previous visa history. It's recommended that she carry proof of funds, onward travel, and accommodation to help her chances.

If your friend has not received a 30 day extension she she could go to her local immigration office pay ฿1,900 for a 30 day extension and not leave Thailand

Now the daughter on the other hand MIGHT have a problem getting back in on a 30 day visa exempt depending on her previous entry history to thailand.

IF she's lived here on back-2-back 30 day visa exempt or tourist visa entries she could have a problem getting back in.

I'd say she should be prepared with proof of funds (20K baht or the equivalent in CASH), proof of onward travel (in 30-60 days) AND proof of lodging or a confirmed hotel booking and hope for the best

First off you need to get your terminology dialed in some.

Ther eis no "tourist visa on arrival". IF someone shows up here from a western country without having bought a visa from a thai consulate BEFORE they came here and were stamped in for 30 days for free they got in on a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp.

BE that as it may,

there shouldn't be any problem of the mother going to KL with their daughter and then comin' back in on a new 30 day visa exempt entry.
