When applying for a marriage visa from the UK. Can I show Thai Baht in my wise account as proof of funds.
Reason being exchange rate is good at moment and I can add it to my account.
TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the possibility of using funds in a Wise account, specifically in Thai Baht, as proof of funds when applying for a marriage visa from the UK. The comments clarify that funds do not have to be in Thai Baht, and any standard bank account can be used. However, there are concerns about the recognition of Wise as a bank by embassies, and varying experiences regarding opening Thai bank accounts for those without a permanent visa.
I applied from Canada and sent one statement as proof of funds then they asked to see 3 months to prove income. I did it all at the Thai embassy in Canada with Canadian bank statements.
Opening the account here on a small island is proving to be a greater challenge… only 2 banks here and today one of them told me to go to the other one because they didn’t know how to do it even though I brought them everything they initially asked me for.
Most Embassies do not recognise Wise as a bank, I don't know RTE London's policy on this. Don't you have a Thai bank account to complete your Wise transfer?
