Hi just a quick one looking to apply for non O, I have a Thai bank account with the necessary funds just wondering if showing this as evedence might cause me problems as I an a non resident perhaps I shouldn't have a Thai account?

Thanks in advance for your input
Answer summary
The inquiry revolves around whether possessing a Thai bank account with sufficient funds could pose issues for a non-resident applying for a Non-O visa. Responses indicate that having a Thai bank account is generally acceptable regardless of residency status. However, it is important to clarify whether the application is being made through the e-visa system or via a change of visa type at the immigration office, as there are different requirements related to the source of funds.

Actually you should first make clear if you intend to apply through the e-visa system, or if you intend to apply for the "change of visa type" on Immigration, as there is a big difference in the requirements. For the "change" you will need to prove that the funds came in from abroad. For the application in the e-visa system, no such proof is needed

0 bth and leave 2 months before applying for extension but go to immigration a couple of weeks before applying and get the necessary forms and have them completed before applying then it should be fine

Being prepared will help make things smoother and IO will appreciate that too

I don't see why that would matter to a Thai consulate outside of Thailand. To apply for a Non-O inside Thailand a bank account is essential

Bernie John Brown where does he mention he is applying online? Am I misisng something? Actually he should first make clear if he is applying through the e-visa system, or if he intends to apply for the Change of visa type" on Immigration, as there is a big difference in the requirement to prove the source of the funds
