Can I use my German-to-Philippine converted driver's license in Phuket, Thailand, even if I’m just a tourist? Aren’t they too strict there?

Also, what do you think is the best place in Phuket that is close to the beaches and peaceful place with good internet near to mall or city?

Does anyone know? Could you suggest a place on Phuket Island, please?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can use your German-to-Philippine converted driver's license to drive in Thailand as a tourist, thanks to an ASEAN agreement that recognizes domestic driving licenses from member countries. However, while some comments suggest that a separate International Driving Permit (IDP) isn't strictly necessary, it could be beneficial due to inconsistent knowledge among authorities. For a peaceful spot in Phuket with good internet access near malls or the city, consider areas near Patong Beach.

As long as your Philippines DL is not the temporary one, you are legally allowed to drive in Thailand. There is a specific agreement among ASEAN countries.

No need for an international license... But the brown helmets on the streets may not know about this agreement.

I am confident that the Thai police know and understand the laws relating to licences from ASEAN countries which are totally different to the laws for licences from Western countries.

There are no valid international drivers licences although you can obtain an illegal one from the internet. Perhaps you mean an Intrnational Drivers Permit (IDP) but then you would still be wrong. The poster has a valid licence from the Philippines which is part of ASIAN and as such is valid in all ASIAN countries including Thailand and does not need to be accompanied by an IDP.
