TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can use your Singapore driving license to rent a car in Thailand under the ASEAN agreement, provided it is a full driving license (not a temporary permit). However, it's advisable to carry an international driving permit as well, since local police may not be familiar with the ASEAN agreement.

Yes you can. All SEA licenses can drive in SEA countries according to the agreement. Best to have a copy of the agreement on your phone

Yes you can use your Singapore license in Thailand, as long as it's not a temporary Permit. It must be the full 5 year one.

But beware that the police may not know about the ASEAN agreement and still try to fine you.

To be 100% safe, get a international permit from Singapore

no need because the license is in English.

that's what I am concerned about, that the traffic police does not know about the arrangements with other ASEAN countries driving permits. But I have the valid driving licence, driving for last 30 odd years. Thank you for your response.

DO NOT WORRY. The license is in English so it’s not an issue. I have been stopped 3 times by police only twice they asked for license which is Dutch they don’t care.

Singapore has a provisional license then license (once pass test) is valid till you are 65. There is no 2 year 5 year thing for Singaporeans thats Thailand
