Can I travel to South Vietnam while my DTV visa application is pending in Hanoi?

Hello!

I am currently in Hanoi, waiting for the DTV. Current status is “Pending Approval”.

In the application I included my hotel booking until tomorrow, adding a note to specify that I would have extended my permanence in Vietnam till visa issuance, without leaving the country.

While I wait for the visa to be (hopefully) issued, I know I cannot leave the country; but am I free to travel to South Vietnam?

Or I have to remain within the jurisdiction area of Hanoi Royal Thai embassy (South Vietnam would be area of HoChiMin Thai embassy instead)?

Of course, I would be ready to get back to Hanoi within 24 hours, if requested by the embassy for in-person interview.

Thanks for your help

TLDR : Answer Summary
While waiting for your Thai visa approval in Hanoi, you are free to travel anywhere within Vietnam, including South Vietnam. However, it is important to be ready to return to Hanoi within 24 hours if requested by the embassy for an in-person interview.

Is it really cannot leave the country? Due to Visa days granted, I also cannot stay in Hanoi as long as Dtv approved. Is it okay just travel to another country (Not Thailand) during the waiting time?
