Hello.

So im in a bit of a difficult situation. I have been convicted for the business with a nominee, including land. I am on a DTV because before my arrest I never made it to a work permit; the business was quite young.

So in a few months I need to leave for the 6 months dtv run. I have asked immigration if i can travel; they said yes, but they are not sure if I can come back. I have to sell the land, so it's important I come back.

I asked different lawyers and agents what they advise; some say that I can come back without any trouble. I am probably not blacklisted, but the immigration officer at the airport will see a red flag and can refuse entry.

The other offer I've got was via a visa agent to extend my visa i Thailand. I know you can extend your visa in Thailand once per year, so it does not seem to sketchy, but i can't have any fake stamps in my passport thinking it's an official stamp.

Please, do you have any advice or experience through people you might know had the same? Did you hear about this extension service in the country before.

The place where I live, they almost do no extensions for the dtv..

And please, no judgement comments; this case is not black and white unfortunately, but a big part of getting screwed and some naivety from my side.
Answer summary
The user is concerned about traveling outside of Thailand while on a DTV visa due to past legal issues related to a business nominee and land ownership. They need to return to Thailand to sell their land but are unsure about their ability to return without facing entry issues. While immigration stated travel is permitted, there is uncertainty about being blacklisted upon reentry. The user explores options for visa extension within Thailand but remains cautious about the legality and legitimacy of services offered.

With all documents correct and without visiting Cambodia I was pulled to the side and questioned twice. I have heard many faced same issue especially people like me who has had the visa for over 1.5 years

I got a bit of a grilling at Suvarnabhumi immigration flying in from Phnom Penh last December but the border war had just kicked off again the previous evening, I just answered all the questions and remained patient and got through ok.

DelightfulCranberry7447 To reiterate; your 'conspiracy guy' friend told you, yet you say 'I haven’t had any issues with immigration in the last two years I’ve been coming to Thailand'. Which is the most reliable source? Trolling isn't a positive contribution to this group.

Why would only DTV holders be pulled aside coming from Cambodia but not other visa types?

DTV_Pag_Backer They aren't the only ones. Cambodia is a bad place to visa run for anyone who is on any kind of tourist visa and especially bad for someone trying to enter again visa exempt.

The visa agents are all telling clients that it is impossible to use any kind of green corriiservice if you fly in from Cambodia. That would indicate there is some kind of heightened scrutiny or unique screening process going on right now with travelers whose port on departure was Cambodia. So I would avoid Cambodia as a visa run option until the geopolitical situation changes. Even if it doesn't cause an immediate problem just accumulating Cambodian stamps could become problematic. No reason to risk it.

Arrived yesterday from Japan and immigration saw my Cambodia visas and told me: "you should not go there unless necesaary"

2 months ago arriving in Beijing immigration asked me why I was in Cambodia so many times. I think has to do with the scam centers

AttractiveAlpaca4057 You missed that they had a war and that some foreign departments still advise you to stay away from the border? Sweden and the UK say 20 kilometer. US and Australia still are at 50km.

They will question you if you have a history of multiple many trips to Cambodia, regardless of having a DTV or not

possibly, but I've been 4 times in the last year and never questioned yet. Quick stamp and done.

Makes no sense as it’s the thai embassy there that approves

BeautifulDragon2531 That might be, but from Thai viewpoint everybody who visits Cambodia is suspicious.
