Hi all,

I am a teacher in Phuket. Our employer has lost the contract for our school which means we will be switching to a new employer. Our current employer will keep our visa/WP active until end of Nov at which point we have been told we need to cancel visa/WP and start the process again with new employer. Needless to say we are all a bit concerned.

So, I guess at end of Nov we will cancel current visa and go to KL or Penang (those are our options from Phuket) to apply new Non-B which is 90 days if my memory serves me then wait for yearly extension of stay stamp and finally WP.

My question is.. I have a trip home booked for Xmas, will I be able to travel if I am on a Non-B but haven't recieved my yearly extension of stay/wp before I depart?

Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A teacher in Phuket is facing visa and work permit issues due to changing employers after their current employer lost the school contract. They plan to cancel their current visa at the end of November and apply for a new Non-B visa in either Kuala Lumpur or Penang. They are concerned about traveling home for Christmas while awaiting the yearly extension of stay and work permit after obtaining the new Non-B visa.
