Sorry, a bit of topic, but I don't know where else to ask. I sold my motorcycle for 200,000. Can I put that safely it in my bank account because the money did not come from outside of Thailand. originally it did
Answer summary
The consensus is that you can safely deposit the proceeds from selling your motorcycle into your Thai bank account, as it's not considered illegal. Many users noted that although there may be limits on transaction amounts that can be deposited at a time (e.g., 100,000 THB per transaction), there are no legal restrictions preventing you from putting this money in your account. It's also commonly accepted that this type of money is fine for personal use, though it may not be eligible for certain purchases like condos.

I'm not sure but as the topic is about motorcycle's, I've just imported mine from the UK that was in pieces.
Your probably going to tell me that I've wasted money doing so. But I wouldn't get much selling as a project. I have already spent a lot on the refurbishment. It's just a matter of putting it together.
Steven L. Daugherty looks like I'm in a bit of a pickle. Look on the bright side, I still have a hobby to finish. Maybe one day I'll might find a registered barn find but I think that's unlikely.
I'll just ride it around the block like the 8 year olds do on there mini Moto's here.
Shaun Devereux The import fees and taxes stack often exceeding the bikes value. They start at 60% for import plus 7% VAT then additional taxes. Import permits are required and actual registration getting a green book etc. Are a nightmare. There is an exception for tourist import for use while touring for 1 to 6 months but that is also quite complicated. Since you shipped it in prices I'm guessing you did not ship it as a motorcycle with the required permits and documents, if so you will never be able to register it, and you assemble it you'll be lucky if it doesn't get confiscated and you get fined.
Shaun Devereux I brought my bike in to Thailand in pieces years ago due to it all being fabricated and customized to my taste,I then bought a cheap same make and model here that had a registration plate, and put all my pieces on that
Yes you can simply use the CDM machine in front of a bank, but it will need several batches since the machine will not accept more than a certain amount per batch. It is only a mechanical restriction not legal restriction or anything.
Why stand in front of a machine feeding notes in when you can just take the whole lot inside the bank and let them do it all with their banknote counter? Avoids any problems with counting or fake/damaged notes.
You can safely put it in your bank account, same as if you sold gold. The money will not be eligible for condo purchases, but you can use normally for everything else. My last few motorcycles I sold I had them transfer directly to my thai bank.
