I have read that I can do my 90 day report for my retirement non O visa online.HoweverI have just spent 2 hours going around in circles on their website with no result. Was I given bad advice?
Answer summary
The initial 90-day report for a retirement non-O visa must be done in person at the immigration office. For subsequent reports, you can use the online system. Common issues include timing, as the online report can only be submitted 15 days before the due date. Many users recommend using approved visa agencies for assistance.

I don't know why people have so many problems with visas, 90 day reporting and even with immigration. I have dealt with an agency for the past 10 years for my retirement visa. I only go to immigration once a year and my agency does all my 90 day reports and sends me the signed slip from immigration every 90 days. Obviously you have to pay an agency. But it is worth it for peace of mind and you don't have to do all the running around which costs you time and money.
What is the actual date for day 90 because reporting online can only be done from 15 days before to 7 days before, any later is very likely to be rejected?
Just tap that blue icon on top left. (APPLY FOR NOTIFICATION OF STAYING IN THE KINGDOM (OVER 90 DAYS) TM.47). And as Keith advise, first one must do in person at immigration office.
Not bad advice, but the online system has a couple of catches that trip a lot of people up. Going by the Immigration Bureau's own TM.47 online manual, your first 90-day report after entering on your visa has to be done in person (or by someone you authorise, or by registered post). Online only works once you have a previous report on record, and you also have to go in person again after getting a new passport, or after coming back if you left without a re-entry permit.
Timing matters too. The online form only accepts a notification within the 15 days before your due date, so trying earlier just gets rejected. Approval comes by email within 3 working days.
If you're already past the deadline, online isn't an option at all: it has to be in person, with a 2,000 baht fine.
Keith Kwai I had successfully submitted my tm47 online for a good while.. but then had difficulty getting it accepted after returning from overseas travel.. so i went to do it in person.. and immigration informed me that i could only do it online after travelling if i submitted it on the actual day it fell due.. meaning if i tried to do it in the 14-day early window (or 7-day late window) then it would not be successful.. which explained my frustration at having it repeatedly rejected in the days leading up to the due date!
