Question, I’m currently in the US for 3 or 4 months, my Non O extension expires Mar of 26, I’m reading that renewal of extension requires a valid passport with at least 6 months remaining, my passport expires in July 26 which is short of 6 months. My concern is if I renew while in US that with new passport # I will not be able to make deposits to my Thai bank account.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about renewing their Non-O extension while in the US, as their current passport expires in July 2026, which is less than six months from the date of extension application. Responses clarify that there is no six-month passport validity requirement for applying for the visa extension, but it is advisable to renew the passport before applying. Renewing the passport ensures that the extension can be valid for a full year, and handling any impacts on the Thai bank account should pose no issues as long as both old and new passports are presented.
