Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me with some questions I have, regarding re-entering Thailand.

I am originally from Namibia. I'm in Thailand on a volunteer visa, but have to go home to re u my passport. Would I be able to re-enter Thailand on a tourist visa?

Yes, according my crystal ball to see the future and the tea leaves to see you history of living inside Thailand..

But to be honest, with this information nobody can give you any advice, even worse, we can no tell if the employee of the Thai Consulate is willing to sell you a new visa and we can not tell if the Immigration Offices at the check point viewing all your history in entry, leaving, usage of visa, name, dob, gender, digital pictures, fingerprints and more will say welcome in Thailand or Sorry, but it seems to me you are not a tourist.

You get the Tourist visa from the Honorair Thai Consul in Namibia or do you have to travel to Pretoria?

I understand. I need to come back to Thailand and can only then reapply for a volunteer visa. But, because I'm from Namibia, I can only apply for a tourist visa in Namibia. I can only apply for the volunteer visa once I'm back here in Thailand. But your answer does help me a lot, thank you.

If the visa is still valid and is multiple entry, then so long as you carry the old passport complete with visa it should be fine.
