Need advice from Thailand immigration experts / people with similar experience 🙏
I am an Indian passport holder travelling solo to Thailand.
On 30 April 2026, I arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) and was formally refused entry by Thai Immigration. The officer told me I didn't have sufficient funds (20,000 THB) and I didn't have a return/onward flight ticket.
My passport was marked with what appears to be “Section 12(2), (9)”, dated 30 April 2026. I have attached a photo of the marking.
I would like advice from anyone with experience or knowledge of Thai Immigration:
1. Can I travel to Thailand again using the visa-exemption scheme, or does the previous refusal prevent me from using visa exemption?
2. Does Section 12(2), (9) mean I have been banned from Thailand, or was it simply a refusal of entry because I couldn't demonstrate sufficient funds/onward travel?
3. If I return with 30,000–40,000 THB cash, confirmed return ticket, genuine hotel bookings, TDAC, bank statement, cards and employment proof, can I enter under visa exemption?
4. Will my previous refusal appear when my passport is scanned at Suvarnabhumi?
5. Has anyone personally experienced entering Thailand again after being refused under Section 12(2)/(9)?
6.I am planning to go again on visa exemption ?
I would really appreciate first-hand experiences or advice from Thai immigration professionals. Thank you 🙏
