* Ive been onto the Thai Canberra website and saw only a single entry O visa available. Ive searched the forums also.

Can anyone advise me please of their most recent experiences.

I could possibly apply in Thailand if need be or Laos or wherever is best.

I know rules change and im hoping for the most up to date info.

As an Australian citizen residing at present in Melbourne, Australia with a Thai gf in Thailand. I visit her 3 times per year for one month each time. I plan on spending more time there in the future. I will eventually want a Thai bank account and avoid agents. I dont want my passport filled with 60 day visa exempts.

Is it possible to obtain a yearly "O" visa with multiple entries? If so would i apply in Thailand or Australia?(i have 400000baht). Most likely will marry in the future albeit i do not want an OA marriage visa(if im getting my terminology correct) as ive been advised its way too problematic. The OA retirement visa health insurance requirements are also problematically expensive for me as well as not wanting 800kbaht earning only 1.5%.

Thanks in advance ๐Ÿ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
An Australian citizen is seeking advice regarding obtaining a yearly Non-O visa, questioning whether he can apply for it while in Thailand or Australia. He is looking for current information on visa rules, as he plans to spend more time in Thailand and avoid frequent visa exemptions. Comments indicate that a Non-O visa cannot be issued with multiple entries and certain requirements must be met for applying depending on residency and marital status.

Let's sort some things related your post based on facts.

- Multiple entry is not available for Non-O for any reason through eVisa application

- Non-OA visa is available in your country only (not inside Thailand) and for being over 50 years old

- No RTE/RTCG around Thailand issues multiple entry Non-O based on retirement

- No more "in-person" RTE/RTCG in Southeast Asia as of 1 Jan 2025 (edited)

- You can apply for single entry Non-O based on retirement inside Thailand (by having 800K baht in a Thai bank account) or outside Thailand. Then following 1-year extension for the same reason in Thailand and a re-entry permit

- You cannot apply for Non-O visa based on spouse to a Thai without legal marriage

We are not going to speculate wild options.
