Can I legally freelance from Vietnam while on a Thai visa?

Hello, I am currently in Thailand and will soon start freelancing. I have seen several people doing the DTV process from Vietnam. I would like to know if I can telework for a few weeks from Vietnam to justify my income? Is it legally allowed? and which kind of visa do I need in Vietnam? (I am French)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently in Thailand and is planning to start freelancing. They are inquiring if they are permitted to telework from Vietnam for a few weeks to justify their income and what type of visa they would require in Vietnam as a French citizen. The community suggests considering a longer duration for freelancing to enhance one's profile, and some indicate exploring the soft power visa route for easier application.

As regards the DTV remote work application: I'd consider a few months instead of a few weeks if you want a decent freelancer profile. Alternatively, apply via the soft power route.

Thanks for your reply, yes that's what I understood, it's a gray area, but I would like to ask if there is anyone who has worked from Vietnam while doing the DTV process..

Participant(e) anonyme It is not really a gray area. It is not allowed, but unless you behave like a fool, there's not much risk.

Thanks for the advice, but I would prefer to stay honest and do the DTV process for Workstation...

Participant(e) anonyme Why would it not be honest to apply via soft power? You are perfectly allowed to earn foreign sourced income on a DTV soft power visa...

I mean, I don't plan on taking Thai boxing classes or anything else... But I'll consider this option because it seems really advisable.
