Did anyone who changed from Non B to DTV got their bank account closed by the bank?

The bank ask me to "update my info" on where am I tax resident and submit some docs, but I don't know if they see that I am DTV they will automatically close my account?

Thanks🙂

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry discusses concerns about the potential closure of a bank account upon changing visa status from Non-B to DTV. Responses indicate that the bank's request for updated tax residency information is standard procedure related to compliance with the Common Reporting Standards (CRS), and not specifically due to the change in visa type. As long as the individual provides the necessary documentation, such as a valid Tax Identification Number (TIN), their bank account should remain unaffected.

This is just the CRS (Common Reporting Standards) and all foreign account holders will be asked by your bank. Nothing in particular about the DTV - just supply the required info and you are good to go. If you were on "B" for working you should have a Thai TIN - just give them that one.

They shouldn't close if you provide them with your recent valid TIN, whether it's Thai or foreign.

Nothing to do with your visa. Are you American?
