This might be a dumb question but here goes. Can an ED visa be granted is studying a language other than Thai but in Thailand? I'm considering doing a Thai course but would rather do Spanish and there are a few language schools that offer it.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, it is possible to obtain an ED visa while studying a foreign language like Spanish in Thailand. Just ensure you enroll in an accredited language school and meet the necessary documentation requirements.
Sorry but finding a school is not Thai Visa advice.
For the requirements you can visit your local Immigration office for the hand out of conversion from Visa Exempt Entry or Tourist Visa into the Non Immigrant ED visa or visit a website of a Thai Consulate to read their requirements
