Hello all. I am coming to Thailand with a retired visa for 3 months. I will stay for 4 months. Can I extend this retired visa in Thailand for 30 days or do I have to make a visa run? Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A 90-day Non-O visa, such as a retired visa in Thailand, cannot be extended for an additional 30 days. You have two options: apply for a one-year extension of stay at your local immigration office or leave the country and return on a 30-day visa exemption (border run). The extension process can be straightforward if you have the necessary documents from your embassy.

No 30 day extension on a non-O you can either do a border bounce and come back in with 30 day visa exemption or you can get a 1 year extension for your non-O.

There’s no one month extension for a 90 day Non O visa. You can only apply for a one year extension of stay. As your from the NL and your embassy still offer to give you an affidavit letter to confirm your income, this should be quite straight forward for you without proving income or funds in any other way. You can just go to your local immigration and apply on a TM.7 form with the requirements.
Yes you can. It’s not a visa run, just a border crossing and you’ll get a new 30 days visa exemption which also can be extended with 30 days at your local immigration.
