I was told I can't do from Chaengwatana without leaving Thailand. I like here in Bangkok currently. Thanks for your advice in advance

If you still are inside Thailand on the initial 90 days of the visa it is correct, you have to leave Thailand and apply for a Non Immigrant O visa based on married to a Thai National at a Thai Consulate
