Hi! From a non-immigrant O visa (volunteer), is it possible to change the visa to a non-immigrant B and get a work permit? If yes, what would be the conditions and how long does the process generally take?

TLDR : Answer Summary
It is not possible to directly change a Non-Immigrant O visa (for volunteering) to a Non-Immigrant B visa. However, if you have a valid Extension of Stay for the O visa, you can cancel it and apply for an Extension of Stay based on employment. It's advisable to consult with your employer and Immigration before making any changes.

No, you can not change the reason why you applied for to get the visa sticker in your passport.

If you are on a valid Extension of Stay based on being a volunteer you can cancel this Extension of Stay and apply directly for a new Extension of Stay based on employment. BUT double check this with your employer and Immigration before you cancel your current stay.

Do not forget to cancel your Work Permit

Not sure what you're asking. For a Non-O visa based on being a volunteer, you will get a work permit
