No, you gave a reason on application and got the sticker in your passport, you can not change the reason afterwards as the visa is used.

if you are on an Extension of Stay, you can cancel this Extension and apply directly for a new Extension of Stay based on employment, But discuss this first with your employer and immigration if they can meet the requirements
