I made a comment on another post about finding it difficult to get a work permit here teaching

My teaching job was in college teaching local and international students, to work with children youth and familes, also to work with people with disabilities, mental health, victims of family and domestic violence, sexual abuse of minors,

Children and youth at risk of abuse.

Its called community services work chc5012,

There doesnt seem to be much call for that here, which is why its difficult,

I have been offered English teaching jobs off the books.

I just wanted to clarify this as not all teachers teach english or work in primary or secondary schools.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the difficulties in obtaining a work permit for teaching roles in Thailand, specifically in the field of community services work related to vulnerable populations. The commenter highlights their experience in higher education and the lack of demand for such roles in Thailand, emphasizing the distinction that not all teaching roles fall under primary or secondary education regulated by OBEC.

Sorry, but primary and secondary education falls under OBEC, they are the people who say you must have a degree. Any other organisation does not come.under their remit and as such, experience and some qualifications are enough. Anyone tells you different, wrong.

What Lloyd said! A college can surely get you a work permit. They fall under OHEC, not OBEC. More likely, they don’t want to run the documents becof the cost to them...
