I entered Thailand under visa exempt and planning to apply for extension. My questions;
1. Can I apply the extension in another province as I spent most of my time here (Udon Thani) or should I go back to Bangkok to extend in MTT?
2. If I extend earlier (my stamp run out on 17 April) will my extension dated from the date I apply or continue from the original stamp date?
3. And the last one, is the IO open on 11-12 April before Songkran?
Thank you in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on extending their visa after entering Thailand under visa exempt status. They ask whether they can apply for an extension in Udon Thani or must return to Bangkok, how the dates will affect the extension if applied early, and if immigration offices are open before Songkran. A response indicates that the extension should be applied for at the local immigration office and explains how the extension dates are determined.
You apply for the Extension of Stay at the immigration office where your address is registered. As that should be done within 24 hours after arriving, it is there where you sleep at the moment.
If it is your first Extension of Stay after arrival Visa Exempt it will start on the last day of your current stay.
12 April is the first day of Songkran, check with your local office.
thank you for the information, if it is starts from the last day of my current stamp, I think it would be better if I go earlier as my stamp run out on Songkran to avoid unnecessary issue ๐๐ป
