Good afternoon @admins and all , i need some information please. I am a south african passport holder
1. I obtained some tourist visas in 2019 and then got my Non-b visa
2. I will not continue my work at this school and need to leave thailand to get a tourist visa as my mom just got to thailand and we are planning on a full trip around the country.
3. I want to stay away from agencies as they ask a arm and a leg for a mere 30 day stamp into thailand
4. My main concern is choosing the right visa ( tourist single or multiple entry)
5. which neighboring country is the best to apply the tourist visa in? And what documents is safest to bring along as i have seen information online that said i must show money amounts of anything from 40k baht to 10k baht
6. What is my best option for visa/country?
Thank you all in advance ๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
A South African passport holder needs advice on obtaining a tourist visa to Thailand, considering they will not continue working at their current school. They seek information on the best neighboring country to apply for the visa, whether to choose a single or multiple entry, and what documentation is necessary for the application process.
YES, there are many ways to get there without the use of an visa run company.
You can fly to Udon Thani and take a bus ride from there to Nong Khai and Vientiane, but as this is not a travel agency you have to search for options yourself.
Good luck and safe travels.
