, in Bangkok you can apply for an extension of stay when you have 45 days or less left on your current extension. You don't lose any time going early because they add the new extension on to the expiration date of the current stamp you have.

Just get your paperwork from your school and go get your extension BEFORE your trip.

sounds like you go to a school that has a special deal worked out with the immigration office where you pay WAY more than 1900baht for your extension at the immigration office and get "preferential treatment" and don't need to do 90 day reporting.

are you sure about this? My school told me that the 90 days extension is the 90 days report

Just be careful though because the same does not apply for your 90-day check-ins. They can only be done 14 days before and will start from the date you do them. So if you apply for a visa extension 45 days before you will either have to do a second trip to immigration or do it online.

you apply for an extension with documentation from your school at the immigration office where you (and the school) are located.

meaning if you live & go to school in Bangkok you can't apply for the extension anywhere but out at the main immigration office at the government complex on Chaengwattana Road.
