Hey everyone... my wife and I are currently in Thailand on 90-day ED (myself) and O (hers) visas ... prior to that we were here on 1-year multi-entry ED and O visas from America. She temporarily had a 90-day B visa with a work permit but her company (she was working remote for a US company) was bought out by another in an acquisition.
Our visas expire June 18 - we're considering Bhutan (as a part-vacation/part-visa trip) or Myanmar. In Bhutan, we wouldn't be able to get another visa, so we'd be relying on a visa on arrival (both Americans). In Myanmar, we'd apply for single entry tourist visas and extend while here as they have a Thai Embassy.
My big question is: Are visa on arrivals sketchy looking these days if we were to go that route - especially considering that we have had 2-4 visas so far? We really want to see Bhutan for a few days, but we're afraid of being denied entry. We're here legitimately and are not working for any Thai companies (I am finishing a PhD in music and presenting at a conference in mid-July; she is here as a spouse). Our flights to leave Thailand permanently are on August 28th, so the Bhutan route would only buy us some time - we'd have to take another trip to apply for another tourist visa, but we're just considering our options for now.
Thanks in advance!
