email address for US citizens to get embassy letter in Hua Hin: acsbkk@state.gov

I would like to share my experience with the COVID extension in Prachuat Khiri Khan or Hua Hin as an American in the hopes that it might help someone else.

I went to immigration early just to ask what documents were needed for the visa extension (from TR +30 days to COVID) and got a form that asked for the following:

TM.7

-One Photograph

-copy of passport

-Letter from embassy

-1900 baht

Proof of address:

for hotel:

-letter of confirmation for hotel

-Hotel booking

Renting house or condo:

-rental agreement

-copy of lessor's ID card and copy of lessor's house book

-copy of house book from where you rent

If a foreigner owns the property:

- copy of house book

- Copy of Title deed

I went to immigration with:

- TM.7

- STM2 (they did not seem to require this)

- COVID specific document (in the files here) (was not required)

screenshot of online TM30 (was not required)

- lease agreement for the condo that included a copy of the owners passport and a copy of the original purchase.

- and a print out of a FAQ from the US embassy website stating they do not provide letters

The reaction I got was all the documents were acceptable aside from the printout of the website saying the embassy doesn't provide letters. I was told I would need a printout of the email response.

After some digging I found the emergency contact email for the US embassy ( acsbkk@state.gov ) and got an automated response that was almost identical to the FAQ I printed before. I went back to immigration with that and it was accepted and I now have a stamp that I need to return on September 22.
